2007: Honours shared in inaugural year

As we count down to the 2013 Titans Awards Night, we take a trip down memory lane and pay tribute to the players that have claimed the club's prestigious Paul Broughton Medal to date. Who will be next in 2013?
The honours were shared in the club's inaugural year in 2007 as Titans forwards Luke Bailey and Anthony Laffranchi were crowned joint winners of the first ever Paul Broughton Medal.
Named in honour of the club's inaugural Chairman Paul Broughton, the inaugural medal was created for the club's best and fairest player, awarded on a 3-2-1 points basis throughout the season.
Bailey had arrived at the club as a NSW State of Origin prop from the St George Illawarra Dragons and was also given the honour of Co-Captaining the side in 2007 alongside Scott Prince.
Murwillumbah junior Laffranchi had returned to his local area to sign with the Titans after winning a premiership with the Wests Tigers in 2005.
The pair led from the front throughout the season and there was nothing splitting them after 26 rounds of the regular season.
Both played 20 of a possible 24 matches for the Titans during the club's inaugural year which netted 10 wins for the season.
A strong start to the year saw Laffranchi lead the way passing the halfway point in the competition on 14 points ahead of Prince and Bailey.
However, some strong form late in the season saw Bailey hit the front with three rounds remaining.
Laffranchi levelled on 19 points with a 3-point display in the club's final round match against the Storm.
Another forward Mark Minichiello also enjoyed a strong debut season with the club, earning 17 points in third place.
