A group of eager youngsters and the entire iSelect Titans squad paid tribute to the memory of Ryan O’Dwyer at the sixth annual O’Dwyer Shield at Banora Point this week.
Named in honour of Luke O’Dwyer’s brother Ryan who lost his brave battle with Leukaemia in 1998, primary School students from St James and St Joseph’s battled it out in what has become the highlight of their school sports calendar.
And while the competition was fierce, it wasn’t about having a winner on the day.
Luke attended both schools as a youngster while Ryan attended St Joseph’s. The event is held each year in celebration of Ryan’s immense passion for rugby league.
