Awards Night to be live streamed
Wednesday 3 October 2012 10:04 AM
The Jetstar Gold Coast Titans will bring fans closer to the action for tomorrow night’s sixth annual Titans Awards Night at Jupiters Hotel & Casino, with the event to be streamed live via www.titans.com.au.
Headlined by the Paul Broughton Medal for the Jetstar Titans Player of the Year, the night will recognise the achievements of the club’s NRL and NYC Under-20s teams throughout the 2012 season.
While many of the club’s faithful fans will walk the red carpet on the night, all supporters near and far will have the opportunity to witness the glitz and glamour of the evening simply by logging onto www.titans.com.au from 7pm tomorrow, Thursday, October 4.
This year’s awards night will see the addition of two new awards:
* The Preston
Named in honour of former Titans champion Preston Campbell, ‘The Preston’ is presented to the player that shows a number of standout qualities such as consistent work ethic, positive attitude towards every game and a strong commitment to effort and determination. He is well respected by not only his peers but also the opposition, not because of what he says but what he does. He is a leader in every way.
* XXXX Fan Player of the year
A weekly poll on the Titans Website allowed fans to vote for who they thought was the best player of each round throughout the season. The winner has been decided by the highest number of votes.
Prop Luke Bailey is in the running to win an historic fourth Paul Broughton Medal, having taken out the accolade in 2007, 2010 and 2011.
PAUL BROUGHTON MEDAL HONOUR ROLL:
2011: Luke Bailey
2010: Luke Bailey
2009: Nathan Friend
2008: Preston Campbell
2007: Luke Bailey/Anthony Laffranchi (joint winners)
