Although the Titans have a bye this weekend, fans will still have the opportunity to see some of the Titans stars in action.
And the form of wingers Kalifa Faifai Loa (Tweed) and Kevin Gordon (Burleigh) will be closely watched with both of them vying for a position in the Titans side to play South Sydney next Saturday at Cbus Super Stadium with David Mead in doubt with a hamstring injury.
Faifai Loa has been in tremendous form for the Seagulls while Gordon has done nothing wrong but seem lesser action on the wing for the Bears in recent weeks since returning from injury.
The Seagulls travel to Ipswich and will take on the third placed Jets today and the Bears will host the fourth placed Mackay Cutters on Sunday at Pizzey Park.
The Seagulls will field Titans players Davin Crampton, Matt Robinson, Jai Ingram, Faifai Loa and Leva Li.
Coach Aaron Zimmerle said the boys have been impressive with their defensive efforts the past couple of weeks and hopefully that will continue and we will be able to score points.
“I was proud of our defensive efforts against Townsville, most teams have had 50 odd points scored against them and we kept them down just 28,” he said.
“The team is still getting used to playing together and points come from rhythm and once we start to find that we will be able to win games.”
The Bears are coming off a bye in their first game after the 78-6 loss against competition leaders Townsville Blackhawks, who beat the Seagulls 28-0 last Sunday.
The Bears will have Titans players David Hala, Jaime Dowling, who moves to the back row, and Gordon in their ranks.
