Under-20s keen to get back on winners list

Gold Training under-20s coach Ben Woolf has some injury issues to contend with before Saturday’s important match against South Sydney with his side keen to get back on the winner’s list after being made to pay for errors in recent weeks.

He is hoping co-captain Shaun Hudson and dynamic attacker Karl Lawton will return from injury but both will have to have fitness tests later in the week, along with winger Christian Mika.

Lawton, who has been playing five-eighth, has been returned to hooker where he played last season.

Centre Jed Cartwright is out so utility Brian Kelly will play in the centres, with Josh Berkers – normally a back-rower – again filling the other centre position. Tevita Folau will start on the wing.

The forward stocks have been further stretched with prop Ethan page joining Oshea Tuiasau on the injured list. Zac Spring is still a few weeks away from returning.
