COACH BEN WOOLF’S TAKE: “Brayden came up from Melbourne this year, he’s a big halfback/five-eighth with a good passing game who organises his edge well and is a good defender.”

Q: You played u20s with the Melbourne Storm last year, how have you found moving back home to Queensland?

A: It’s great being back home with my family. Melbourne was my first time away from home and it was a good experience but it was difficult at time balancing everything. Living back at home and being around my brother and sister has taken away a few of those worries and given me more stability and structure, and I think that’s helped my footy.

Q: You’re at university studying to become a PE teacher, how do you go balancing football and study?

A: It can be challenging because I live and go to uni in Brisbane so commuting to training down the Coast does make it difficult sometimes. But Woolfy is really understanding of that and I still get to all the training sessions, and I’m enjoying my football. I manage to get all my study in so it’s not too stressful.

Q: As the halfback/five-eighth, there is a lot of responsibility in organising the team, is that part of the role something you enjoy?

I played there last season when I was at Melbourne, and it’s a position I’ve played a lot before, so I guess it’s nothing new. When I first came to the Titans it was obviously a bit difficult with a whole new group of guys and just getting to know everyone, but they were all welcoming and I eventually settled in and feel comfortable now. I’ve played in those roles all season so I got used to it pretty quick.
