Gold Training under-20s coach Ben Woolf is hoping key backs Shaun Hudson (hip) and Brian Kelly (hamstring) will return to the side for the final match of the season against ladder leaders North Queensland at 1300SMILES Stadium on Saturday (5.15pm kick-off).

Both were late withdrawals from the side that went down 40-18 to the Dragons last Sunday in perhaps their most disappointing performance of the season at Cbus Super Stadium. He will check their fitness later in the week.

Unfortunately physical prop Max Elliott will miss the final game because of a knee injury.

Countering that is Shane Gillham returning from his brief period with Tweed Heads in the Intrust Super Cup, and he will take over Elliott’s No. 10 jersey.

The Schwass brothers, Daniel and Hayden, return from duty with Burleigh Bears and will strengthen the side for their toughest challenge of the season against a Cowboys side that has won 11 straight games.
