Kierran Moseley, who missed all the trial matches because of an ankle injury, will make his comeback for Tweed Heads in the Intrust Super Cup this weekend.

The injury was suffered at training shortly after the team’s return from the Christmas break and he has worked hard to be right for the start of the season.

Ryan Simpkins, who had been sidelined since round eight last season after suffering an ACL injury, made his successful comeback in the Seagulls’ last pre-season trial and has been chosen in their side for Sunday’s clash against Redcliffe.

That leaves still on the injured list as the NRL and Intrust Super Cup seasons begin Karl Lawton (groin – expected to return in round 4), Oshae Tuiasua (knee – rd 6), Nathaniel Peteru (knee – rd 6), Nene Macdonald (knee – rd 3) and Kane Elgey (knee – season).

Peteru suffered a knee injury during the Auckland Nines and has been out of field sessions since.
