Aquis Titans fans can look forward to a Sunday afternoon blockbuster against the Warriors in round 22 as part of the allocated draw for the last six rounds of the 2016 Telstra Premiership, released by the NRL this afternoon.
Konrad Hurrell, unable to play his former NZ-based mates in round 17, will be able to do so in front of a big crowd at Cbus Super Stadium on Sunday August 7 if he fights his way back into the side after overcoming a calf injury.
The final six rounds see the Titans have a third Monday night match of the season, against Cronulla in round 21, followed by Sunday 2pm (Warriors, round 22) and Saturday 5.30pm (Panthers, round 25) and away games against Wests Tigers (Campbelltown, 3pm Saturday in round 23), Newcastle (Hunter Stadium, Saturday 3pm, round 25) and North Queensland (1300Smiles Stadium, 5.30pm Saturday) in the final round.
All six matches are Fox Sports-telecast events.
“I’m quite happy with the draw,” said Titans coach Neil Henry.
“It means we will go through the season with no five-day turnarounds and the 5.30pm Saturday at home against Parramatta (round 20), 2pm Sunday (Warriors) and 5.30pm Saturday (Panthers) are good time slots for our fans.
“We have three games in a row in day time against the Warriors, Tigers and Knights, and we like to play on the faster conditions in daylight.”
The Titans’ only Channel 9 telecast match is the Friday night round 19 clash with St George Illawarra at Jubilee Oval.
