Season Highlight nine for season 2016 is the try-scoring record achieved by prop forward Ryan James.

In the final match of the regular season, James dropped under dummy-half Nathan Friend and showed great strength to crash through three Cowboys defenders and go over to score.

The 25-year-old equalled the record of 11 tries in a season that was held by St George player Jack Holland who achieved the feat in 1950 and also Harry Eden from South Sydney who achieved the milestone in 1975.

James etched his name in the record books in week one of the finals against the Brisbane Broncos when he went over to score in the 74th minute off the back of a Greg Bird offload and a bit of soccer skill himself, he planted the ball down next to the left hand upright.

The Bilambil Jets junior now holds the record with 12 tries scored in a season which is the highest for a front row forward in the history of the game.
