New recruit Joe Greenwood has settled in well to Australia but one thing he’d love to change is the starts to games his side is having.

After four rounds the club has struggled through the opening 20 minutes of each match and the back rower knows that it is the number one priority heading into a tough encounter against the Warriors in Auckland this Sunday.

“We said from the off (last week) that we need to be better and each week the other side has just seemed to get the momentum,” Greenwood said.

“It’s a big ask when you’re coming off the bench and the other side have all the momentum and all you can try and do is somehow help get your team back into the match.”

The 23-year-old is adamant his side’s training regime has nothing to do with the slow starts as the intensity is there from the get-go as well.

“We start well (at training) and the effort is there. We’re all giving 100% but maybe in games it’s a few nerves getting on top of us so I think we all need to calm down a little bit.

“When you’re giving away a start you’re just on the back foot straight away and it’s always tough to claw back.”
