The Aquis Gold Coast Titans are pleased to confirm that Jarryd Hayne has committed to the club for the 2018 season.

Although originally signing a two-year contract with the Titans, the deal included an option for the second year in Jarryd’s favour to be exercised by 31 May 2017.

Jarryd delayed the announcement of his decision until after last night’s Origin game so it did not detract from the focus on the first game of the Series.

The Cabramatta junior has played 12 matches for the Titans since arriving late last season bringing his total NRL appearances to 188 games, including 21 Origin games for NSW and 12 for Australia, scoring more than 500 career points.

“I’m very happy at the Titans and with the talent we have here I see a bright future for the club,” Hayne said.

“Although we’ve had a rough start to the season with injuries, I’m looking forward to helping our push for the finals this year, and continuing to improve as a club in 2018.

“I had a lot to consider with family and friends based in Sydney, but I’m really enjoying life on the Gold Coast which did help with my decision,” Hayne added.

Head Coach Neil Henry is pleased that Hayne has elected to remain with the club in 2018.

“As I’ve said since Jarryd arrived, he is an impressive player and someone that brings with him a wealth of experience, talent and ability,” Henry said.

“I look forward to continuing to work with Jarryd in 2018 and along with other players in our squad as we strive to be a consistent performer in the NRL.”

CEO Graham Annesley knows what Hayne offers both on and off the field.

“Jarryd is one of the biggest names in Australian sport and we are delighted he has decided to stay with the Titans next year,” Annesley said.

“Although suffering a serious injury earlier in the season, he is now regaining top form as we saw last night. Jarryd has the ability to deliver a huge boost to the Titans fortunes both on and off the field,” Annesley concluded.
