The Rabbitohs have come back to defeat the young Titans 26-18 at ANZ Stadium tonight.

Three tries to the Rabbitohs in the first half hurt the Titans and whilst they fought hard to fight back and lead 18-12, it was the Rabbitohs who finished the better.

The NYC side were dealt a blow when Phillip Sami was taken out of the side to make his NRL debut but it was 17 v 17 and the side were up for the fight.

The match started from end to end with both sides looking to get the upper hand but with the weight of possession heading the Titans way, it was Sam’s replacement, Jake Sparey who opened the scoring. Ethan Roberts was ever-reliable, converting to put the Titans in front 6-nil.

The remainder of the half was all the Rabbitohs, with the home side crossing for three tries before the half-time break. Two of the tries came in the final five minutes of the half, breaking the Titans, leading 16-6.

The Titans needed to be the first to score and it was Sparey who crossed for his second of the night in the south-west corner. Roberts converted from the sideline and closed the gap to 16-12.

Five-eighth Ethan Roberts put on a show and go in the 61st minute and converted his own try to grab the lead back from the home side, 18-12.

The lead was short-lived with the Rabbitohs scoring two converted tries and a penalty goal, to win 26-18.
