He is only 15 games into his NRL career but back rower Joe Greenwood is feeling more comfortable in the toughest rugby league competition in the world as that tally increases.

Greenwood arrived only one week before the 2017 commenced and rather than use excuses, the 24-year-old has worked tirelessly to become a consistent performer in the NRL.

“I feel I need to keep improving,” Greenwood said. “I think the consistency of the last few weeks has helped and knowing the guys around you. The team has been the same for the last two or three weeks.”

“We’re all looking to get better. You need to do the extras and get prepared as best as you can.”

The continued rise of Greenwood has again raised the discussion about how it would feel for him to represent his country but the back rower admits no further discussions have been had with England Coach Wayne Bennett.

“It’s been a dream since I was a little kid to play for my country. Nothing has been said as yet, we had that little camp in February where I spoke to Wayne but I’ve really tried to concentrate on settling in here and performing well for the Titans.”

Greenwood knows that defence will be key come Saturday afternoon against the Panthers.

It’s a key for us (defence). We need to keep on top of it as nothing is easy in this competition. We need to look to tire out their middles so our halves can then play off the back of that.”
