Captain Ryan James has applauded the side’s defence in recent weeks but has said that it needs to continue if the team is to continue its good run of form.

The last three weeks has seen the opposition score just 34 points with the side working hard in the middle and the influence of Kevin Proctor coming to the fore.

“Yeah, there is a bit of confidence,” James said. “We are able to field our strongest team this week and we’ve been pretty happy with our defence.

“We need to keep that up and then our attack should fall into place.”

The match against the Panthers tomorrow afternoon is proving to be an extremely important one with the men from Sydney’s west just two points ahead of the Titans.

It will be an interesting clash in the middle but James admits his fellow forwards will need to work hard to stop their young halves playing off the back of any dominance.

“Campbell-Gillard is strong and Tamou is a former rep player so they will be difficult to handle. Wallace and I talk about it and we want to be out there winning against our opposite number.”

“We need to stop Cleary and Moylan is someone that plays off the cuff so we need to cut down their opportunities.”
