Back rower Kevin Proctor has returned to the field with plenty of fire since his club-imposed suspension for an indiscretion back in May but it’s the work he is doing off the field that he believes is contributing heavily to his on-field form.

The 28-year-old was suspended, fined and ordered to commit to 50 hours of community service after an incident whilst in New Zealand camp after the annual Test Match and the new recruit for this season has taken no time to get out and do his work.

Proctor, through the guidance of Welfare Manager, Peter Smith, has struck up a relationship with the Salvation Army Rehabilitation Centre and more importantly with Captain Lyndley and an individual named Cameron.

The New Zealand international has been attending a number of meetings and discussing issues in group meetings and has also joined the patients out in the ‘yard’ working together and improving their facility. Whilst suspended due to an indiscretion of his own doing, Proctor struggled throughout that period mentally and has now made changes to his life that is helping not only him, but also his family.

The Titans would like to thank the Salvation Army for the work they have been doing and we look forward to continuing to work together in the future.
