In another major coup for the Aquis Gold Coast Titans, star half-back Ash Taylor, has today formally agreed to terms which will see him remain a Titan for a further three years from 2019 through until the end of the 2021 season.

Although already committed to the Titans in 2018, the twenty-two-year-old rising star and his management received plenty of interest from several cashed up NRL Clubs. However, Taylor said his happiness at the Titans and the strong bond formed with his team mates, made it a pretty easy decision in the end.

“I love it here at the Titans, and although it took a while to sort out the terms of the new deal, I never really considered going anywhere else.” Taylor said.

Last week’s recruitment of new head Coach Garth Brennan was another key factor in Taylor committing to the Gold Coast.

“It is a big relief to have the new Coach in place.  I’m really pleased with the appointment of Garth as I’ve had some personal involvement with him in the past. He’s a great communicator and he has big plans for the future of the Club, so I’m keen to get stuck in and help make 2018 a success,” Taylor added.

New Head Coach, Garth Brennan, was delighted to have locked in the signature of his prized number seven as he looks to sure up his playing roster prior to commencing preparations for the Titans 2018 campaign.

“Ash is a tremendous young man and an outstanding footballer who is central to our plans as we look to build a winning culture here at the Titans”, Brennan said.

“He’s exciting to watch, super talented, and certainly on a trajectory that will see him develop into one of the best half-backs in the NRL over the next few years. He is also absolutely determined to help the Titans achieve success, and as Head Coach, I couldn’t ask for any more than that”, Brennan added.

Titans Chief Executive, Graham Annesley, said the extension of Taylor’s contract for a further three-years would provide the Titans members, corporate partners, sponsors and fans with a real confidence boost prior to pre-season training commencing in a few weeks.

“This is a great outcome for everyone associated with the club”, Annesley said.

“The vote of confidence shown by Ash and his Management, further demonstrates our commitment and determination to build a club that everyone on the Gold Coast can be proud of.  Ensuring that Ash remains a Titan for at least the next four years was certainly an important piece of that plan”, Annesley concluded.
