Head Coach Garth Brennan has taken little time to make a mark with the NRL squad and new recruit Brendan Elliot has been impressed with the involvement of the 45-year-old.

In just the second week of training, Elliot likes the technique his new Coach is using.

“He’s really hands on,” he said. “He’s out there with us, he’s getting amongst it.

“He’s tough and has told us what he expects of us.”

Elliot had never crossed paths with Brennan before meeting him this pre-season but all the reports were impressive.

“I’d heard good reports from the boys at Newcastle because Garth is from there and the early part of training has lived up to the expectation from what I had heard.”
