Bulldogs halfback Toby Sexton has agreed to join French Super League club Catalans Dragons on a two-year deal.
Catalans announced the signing of Sexton on Thursday in a statement quoting the 24-year-old playmaker.
Sexton said: “I’m super pumped to be joining the Catalans Dragons for the following season and can’t wait for what’s ahead".
The former Titans halfback, who joined Canterbury in 2023, has played every game for the Bulldogs this season as the club has moved near the top of the NRL ladder.
He is the first signing by newly appointed Catalans coach Joel Tompkins, who has replaced former Roosters and Warriors assistant Steve McNamara.
Tomkins has been appointed for the 2026 season, which will mark the club’s 20th anniversary.
“Toby is an exciting young half with a strong kicking game, excellent game management, and composure under pressure," Tomkins said.
"He’s already showing that he can perform at the top NRL level, and I believe he’s only going to get better. His attitude, professionalism, and competitive nature will be a great fit for our squad and the culture we want to build within the team."
Parramatta have announced Tallyn Da Silva will join the club effective immediately until the end of the 2029 season.
Da Silva grew up in Campbelltown and played in the West Tigers pathways teams before making his NRL debut with the club in 2023.
“Tallyn is a very talented hooker with great skills and a strong running game which complements our squad nicely," Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill said.
Da Silva will commence training with the Eels this week.
The Eels have also extended the contract of promising outside back Jordan Samrani and upgraded hooker Ryley Smith.
Since his debut in Round 2, the 23-year-old has played nine NRL games, showcasing his versatility playing in various positions on the field.
Smith will move into the Eels' Top 30 squad for 2026 and he has extended his contract with the club through to the end of the 2027 season.
After making his NRL debut in Round 1, Smith has established himself as a key figure in the Eels' forward pack.
“Ryley has been exceptional this season, particularly when you consider he started the year as a train-and-trialist and has worked his way into being a regular member of the team," said Eels general manager of football Mark O'Neill.
"His work ethic is unbelievable, and it shows what can be achieved when you are as committed as what Ryley is to the club and his own development.”
The Raiders have continued their push to retain their squad for the future, with winger Savelio Tamale re-signing until the end of the 2028 season.
Tamale was already contracted to the Green Machine for next year but an impressive start to his time in Canberra has seen him rewarded with a contract extension.
The Dragons have extended the contract of rookie back Nick Tsougranis until the end of the 2027 season but will part ways with playmaker Jonah Glover, who has joined the Rabbitohs.
The 22-year-old has been one of the standout performers for the Dragons at NSW Cup level and heads to Redfern on a two-year deal for 2026-27.
“Jonah has shown through his discussions with us, and his performances on the field, that he is ready to take the next step in his career and play in the NRL,” said Rabbitohs head of recruitment and retention Mark Ellison.
The Sea Eagles have released Jake Arthar has been released from the final year of his contract, effective immediately to join Newcastle Knights.
Newcastle confirmed his signing, saying he had joined the top 30 list for the remainder of the 2025 season.
The 22-year-old half was off contract at the end of this season. The Sea Eagles have also signed middle forward Paul Bryan from the Knights.
The former Queensland Under 19 representative made his NRL debut in Round 12 this season.
Earlier, Queensland Origin and Test player Selwyn Cobbo will add even more firepower to the Dolphins’ backline after agreeing to a one-year deal for NRL season 2026.
Cobbo has agreed to terms on the contract that allows him to stay in Brisbane and will complement the Dolphins’ already potent backline under head coach Kristian Woolf.
The move is a good fit for Cobbo, who hails from Cherbourg just a couple of hours from the Dolphins’ base north of Brisbane.
Cobbo can play anywhere in the outside backs, and his Origin pedigree will only strengthen a Dolphins’ back five that includes players of the calibre of English international Herbie Farnworth, Kangaroo Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, Kiwi Test player Jamayne Isaako, Jake Averillo and Jack Bostock.
“The Dolphins have always said we are about continuing to build a roster that will make us one of the top teams in the NRL,” Dolphins CEO Terry Reader said in a statement.
“Selwyn is an accomplished player who has done some amazing things at both Origin and NRL level already.
“But we believe he has untapped potential to go to even greater heights in our game and are excited about what he can do in a Dolphins jersey.”
The 23-year-old debuted for the Broncos in Round 13 of 2021 and has gone on to score 48 tries in 80 appearances for the club.
Cobbo also went on to make six appearances for the Maroons in 2022 and 2023 which led to his selection for the Kangaroos in 2023.
The Roosters have signed outside back Junior Tupou until at least the end of the 2027 season.
Tupou's move is effective immediately as he parts company with the Dolphins after playing just two games in 2025. He previously played 34 games for Wests Tigers from 2022-24.
“Junior is an exciting young player with size, speed and power," said Roosters head of recruitment Daniel Anderson.
“He adds some terrific depth to our outside backs and we’re looking forward to seeing his development over the next few years.”
Meanwhile, the Dragons are set to part company with long-serving forward Jack de Belin at the end of the season
The 34-year-old PNG international has so played 242 NRL matches for St George Illawarra since debuting as a 20-year-old in 2011.
The Dragons said in a statement that De Belin had recently been informed that they would not offer him a contract extension beyond this season and as a result he will be taking up an opportunity at another club from 2026.
The Eels have elevated emerging forward Kitione Kautoga to the club's top 30 for the remainder of the 2025 season and extended his contract through to the end of 2027.
The 22-year-old joined the Eels in December last year on a development contract and come Round 2 this season he had made his NRL debut.
"Kitione came to the club looking for an opportunity and he has grabbed it with both hands," said Eels general manager of football Mark O'Neill.
"His performances so far this year have been very impressive. He has connected well with the players, the broader staff, and the coaches love working with him."
Meanwhile, the Broncos have made a major signings splash, luring Storm youngster Grant Anderson away from Melbourne.
The winger will join the club on a two-year deal next season that will see him remain in Brisbane until the end of the 2027 campaign.
In a double-dose of good news, emerging back Josiah Karapani has signed a two-year extension that also locks him down until 2027.
Broncos skipper Adam Reynolds will line up for his 15th season in the NRL after signing a one-year deal for the 2026 season.
The 34-year-old made his NRL debut at Souths in 2013 and won a premiership with the Rabbitohs in 2014. He moved to Brisbane in 2022 and has racked up 70 games at Red Hill to take his career tally to 300 games.
Also putting pen to paper on a new deal is star centre Kotoni Staggs, who has re-signed until the end of the 2028 season.
The 26-year-old joined the Broncos as a teenager through the Academy pathways program before making his NRL debut against the Roosters in Round 11, 2018.
Staggs has gone on to play 131 games for the club and his explosive power and line-breaking ability have helped him chalk up 55 tries.
Youngster Blake Mozer has also signed a two-year extension with the Broncos.
Elsewhere, rising Rooster Naufahu Whyte has signed a three-year extension through to the end of the 2029 season.
Since making his debut in 2021, the 23-year-old Kiwis forward has notched 46 NRL appearances, developing into an integral member of Trent Robinson's pack.
In other contract news, up-and-coming forward Finau Latu will join Canterbury from St George Illawarra, effective immediately until the end of the 2028 season.
Latu has already signed with the Bulldogs for 2026 but will now join the club early.
One of the most sought-after youngsters in the competition, the 2023 Australian Schoolboys star has made a meteoric rise through the grades in recent years and was a member of last year's SG Ball premiership winning side.
Latu is currently sidelined with a back injury and the move will allow his new club to take over his rehab process.
Wests Tigers, meanwhile, have locked down emerging playmaker Heath Mason on an upgraded deal that will see him remain for another year.
As part of the contract, the 20-year-old has been added to the club's top-30 squad immediately and had his deal extended through to the end of the 2026 season.
Mason has played in 10 NRL games since making his debut last year and coach Benji Marshall is eager to see the local junior develop into a regular first-grade player.
The Knights have re-signed exciting young forward Elijah Salesa-Leaumoana recommitting until the end of the 2027 season.
The powerful back rower, who hails from Moto’otua, Samoa and was raised in New Zealand, made his NRL debut in Round 14 after relocating to Newcastle in late 2022.
Ball-playing forward Bryce Cartwright has departed the Eels to pursue new opportunities, marking a return to where his rugby league journey began.
Cartwright commenced his career with the St Mary’s Saints before progressing through the Penrith Panthers system.
After stints with the Gold Coast Titans and a transformative period at Parramatta, he now returns to St Mary’s to conclude his professional playing career.
Emerging forward Tanner Stowers-Smith has signed a three-year contract extension with the Warriors.
The 21-year-old made his NRL debut in Round 11 and shapes as a key figure in the pack over the coming seasons. He will remain with the club until at least the end of the 2028 campaign.
English international Dom Young has returned to Newcastle until at least the end of the 2027 season after being given an immediate release by Sydney Roosters.
Young played 31 NRL matches for the Roosters after two seasons at the Knights in 2022 and 2023 and played his farewell match for the club against his new team-mates last Saturday.
Teenage sensation Fletcher Hunt will also be at the Knights until at least the end of 2027 after signing a contract extension.
The 19-year-old made his NRL debut in Round 11 against the Eels and has averaged 119 run metres per game across his four matches.
The new deal includes immediate elevation to a NRL development contract for 2025 and 2026, along with promotion to the club’s Top 30 in 2027.
Newcastle junior Lachlan Crouch will return to the Hunter after a stint at the Newtown Jets, signing a three-year contract from 2026.
The Titans, meanwhile, have re-signed outside back Jojo Fifita to a two-year contract extension through to the end of the 2027 season.
Fifita made his NRL debut in Round 18 of the 2022 season and has racked up 49 games for the Titans, scoring 22 tries.
Dragons hooker Jacob Liddle has extended his stay with the club after signing a new three-year deal.
The contract extension will keep the 28-year-old in the Red V until at least the end of the 2028 season.
Liddle joined the Dragons ahead of the 2023 season and has since played 56 of a possible 60 games, with 14 tries.
Former Panther Taylan May has signed a train and trial contract with the Wests Tigers that paves the way for his return to the NRL.
The outside back left Penrith last year due to an off-field issue however he has now been cleared to commence training with the Tigers after charges were dropped by police earlier this year.
May will begin training immediately and will become available for selection should training and off-field standards be met. The deal runs through to the end of this season.
The deal comes on the back of last week's recruitment of Newcastle forward Kai Pearce-Paul on a three-year deal.
The English international will join the club next season on a contract that runs to the end of 2028.
Pearce-Paul has emerged as a powerful edge forward since moving from Wigan to Newcastle at the start of last season and he will provide added firepower up front for the Tigers.
