iSelect Gold Coast Titans trio Matt Srama, Cody Nelson and Kevin Gordon will try their hand at yoga in support of the Gold Coast Stretches a Hand to the Philippines event at the Broadwater Parklands this Sunday, December 8.

The trio all have family ties to the Philippines and this cause is very close to their hearts in the wake of the devastating destruction caused by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

The Gold Coast community will unite to show how the practice of Yoga can make a difference for children and families in the affected areas.

Taking place at Southport Broadwater Parklands on Sunday (December 8), Gold Coast based Yoga leader Madonna Williams and supporters are organising the Gold Coasts biggest ever Yoga class set to attract hundreds to raise much needed funds for the relief effort.

The entire Gold Coast is invited to get involved and it is only $10 to register your attendance with 100 per cent of proceeds going to the Save the Children, Philippines Typhoon Appeal.

Author of Zen Soul Your Life, Ms Williams said the event was a unique way for the entire Gold Coast community to help make a positive difference to peoples lives.

With the death toll standing at more than 2000 and more than a million left homeless, connecting through Yoga is a beautiful way to show emotional support and send positive energy to the devastated region, whilst also raising funds directly for the donation appeal, Ms Williams said.

Children, families, new beginners and advanced yogis on the Gold Coast and surrounding areas are all invited to attend with their Yoga mats or towels and show their support for the children of the Philippines.

The event will be opened by Karen Phillips with performances by Gold Coast favourite Caroline Taylor and international performer Matt Ward, and is generously supported by City of Gold Coast, Active & Healthy, Zen Soul Yoga, Ruby Public Relations, Nude Creative and S Art Photography. All companies have given their time, expertise and goodwill to organise this dedicated charity appeal.

To participate in the Gold Coasts biggest Yoga class please visit www.charity.madonnawilliams.com and register your name, you will then be redirected to the official appeal page for donations of $10 minimum.

Participants are encouraged to donate as much as they are willing to help the children and families affected by the natural disaster.

Gold Coast Stretches a Hand to the Philippines is being held on Sunday 8th December at Broadwater Parklands, Southport. The event opens for registrations at 8am with Madonna Williams instructing the class from 8.30-9.30am.
