It was a training session with a difference today for the iSelect Titans, who freshened up by hitting the water for a team building event at the Southport Yacht Club.

Taking part in an America’s Cup style racing regatta, the session acted as a reward for the squad after a gruelling three-month pre-season schedule which culminates in the first of the club’s pre-season trial matches in New Zealand this Sunday.

The aptly named “Riff Raff’’ boat featuring prop Luke Bailey and Titans Co-Captain Nate Myles was declared the winner of the event.

But as usual, there was no shortage of competitiveness and debate amongst teammates about who was the best out on the water.

The Titans have a busy week ahead with players set to visit schools in the Tweed Heads region tomorrow to deliver the Titans Tackle Bullying program as part of the NRL’s One Community Carnival.

The squad then leaves for New Zealand on Friday ahead of this Sunday’s trial match against the Warriors and the Auckland Nines the following weekend.
