Former Bulldog Paul Carter says he's looking forward to the challenge of testing himself at hooker when he makes his debut for the club in Sunday's trial match against New Zealand.

Carter was recruited to the club as a recognised backrower but the youngster will wear the No.9 jersey this weekend after the Titans were left without injured hooking trio Beau Falloon (hamstring), Sam Irwin (ankle) and Matt Srama (shoulder).

The son of premiership winning Penrith great Steve Carter has been training at hooker since the pre-season began in November and he said he was eager to test himself in the position under match conditions this weekend.

Carter spoke to the media in the build-up to this weekend's trial match. Click on the play button to watch his press conference.
