iSelect Titans co-captain Greg Bird said while his side can proudly hold their heads up after a resilient defensive effort at Canberra, they have to be consistent and re-create the tough attitude regularly.

Admitting the team was “disgusted” with the performance seven days earlier against Wests Tigers, he felt the defence in Canberra was first class, but the attack has to improve.

“We still have a fair bit of work to do on our attack and there are a fair few weeks left to work on that,” Bird said. “I am pretty happy with how we defended our line, they had a lot of repeat sets and penalties against us but we held strong and kept them out.

“We hopefully we just need to get everyone on the same page [to reproduce that form] – same preparation, same mindset, same attitude … that’s all we can do. It’s hard to create that environment every week but that’s something that me, Nate and Carty have to try to create.”
