Like most professional NRL players, Luke O’Dywer’s life was rugby league for a decade.

When it came to an end at age 30 in 2013, he’d at least learned about the world of business through doing a Bachelor of Business degree and working part-time.

So it was an opportunity that was perfect for him when the iSelect Titans created a role for him in the club’s marketing department as a business development executive.

He has also become the voice of a new Titans’ radio campaign aimed at getting more people in the business community associated with the club, as well as a regular feature as an interviewer and tipster on our website.

O’Dwyer is a local boy from the Tweed who may have had to move to Parramatta in 2004 to start his NRL journey but he relished the chance to return as a foundation Titans player when the club was formed for inclusion in the 2007 NRL competition. And he hasn’t wanted to be anywhere else since.

“I hold the club close to my heart and coming back to the Coast where I grew up and representing the Titans was special,” says O’Dwyer.

“I always wanted to be involved in business when I finished playing but also stay involved with the club.

“So I felt very fortunate to have been offered a position with the Titans after my playing contract expired, as I wanted to continue with the club in some capacity.

“I feel very comfortable working here because I’m very passionate about the Titans and the role we can play in the business sector and the community.

“This is an opportunity to play a role in seeing the club grow and develop in a new direction on and off the field and I genuinely believe this is an exciting time for the Titans.”

O’Dwyer is also a father of Jax, almost four, and Zave, 17 months, and has another footy related business interest through ‘Little Leagies’ along with former teammates Ashley Harrison and Scott Prince.

Little Leagies is a program that encourages girls and boys from ages two to six years to be active and teaches them motor and social skills with a touch of rugby league and touch football so they love the sport and the integration with others that it brings.

If you or your business wants to launch a partnership with the Titans you can contact Luke on lukeo@titans.com.au.
