iSelect Titans under-20s halfback Kane Elgey has won the Holden Cup player of the year at the Dally M awards in Sydney last night in an exceptional achievement considering the team's place on the ladder (15th).
Tugun Hawks junior Elgey, made co-captain with fullback Jahrome Hughes, had a consistent season and scored some wonderful individual tries.
He ended the year suffering a medial ligament injury in his left knee but will join the NRL training squad before Christmas after signing a one-year deal under new head coach Neil Henry.
