Injury to Daniel Mortimer has opened up the opportunity for 21-year-old local junior Kane Elgey to make his NRL debut at halfback against Cronulla at Remondis Stadium this Saturday.

Mortimer has an injury to his left wrist joint, suffered in the ninth minute of the 20-18 loss to the Knights last Sunday, as is sidelined for probably three to four weeks.

Elgey for Mortimer is the only change to the Titans side other than the bench being extended to five to include Agnatius Paasi.

Elgey, from the Tugun Seahawks club, was the 2014 Holden Cup player of the year and has played then first three rounds for the Tweed Head Seagulls, winning man of the match honours in their 34-10 win against Norths Devils.

Fullback/centre William Zillman will celebrate his 150th NRL appearance in this match (his 126th for the Titans). His debut was for the Canberra Raiders in round 2 in 2006.

It is also the Titans’ 200th match in the National Rugby League.

The team to play the Sharks is:

1          Josh Hoffman

2          Anthony Don

3          James Roberts

4          William Zillman

5          David Mead

6          Aidan Sezer
