Jupiters Hotel & Casino’s ‘Points for Hope’ raises first $100,000 for Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland

The Gold Coast Titans weren’t the only winners over the weekend – Jupiters Hotel & Casino’s ‘Points for Hope’ initiative reached their first $100,000 fundraising goal for Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland (RMH SEQ), to aid seriously ill children and their families.

Jupiters Hotel & Casino is proudly donating $1,000 for every point scored by the Titans this season to the club’s front of jersey major partner RMH SEQ, to contribute towards the development of the charity’s new South Brisbane House and support their family rooms at the Gold Coast University Hospital.

The Points for Hope campaign forms part of a pledge to raise $3 million to RMH SEQ by Jupiters Hotel & Casino and Treasury Casino & Hotel, supported by parent company Echo Entertainment Group Limited.

The Titans’ strong performance this weekend, scoring 38 points against the Parramatta Eels at Pirtek Stadium, got Jupiters over the line with their first $100,000 fundraising milestone.

Managing director Geoff Hogg said the Jupiters team is thrilled with the Titans’ performance this season, scoring 114 points so far and reaching this significant milestone for RMH SEQ in just six games.

“As proud major partners of both the Titans and RMH SEQ, it’s great to come together to work on this vital project for regional Queenslanders, including Gold Coast families requiring lifesaving medical treatment in Brisbane,” Geoff said.

“We are a proud supporter of RMH SEQ and this contribution will enable more Queensland families to access their vital service in their new South Brisbane House facility.

“Let’s all rally behind the Titans and help them make 2015 a strong points scoring year for the club and the families staying at Ronald McDonald Houses in South East Queensland.”

Titans CEO Graham Annesley said: “After six of our 24 home and away matches this season we’ve already scored a total of 114 points which puts us well on track to deliver around half a million dollars to RMH SEQ as part of this wonderful initiative. It also a great incentive for the players to put as many points on the board as possible knowing that their efforts are directly helping such a fantastic cause.”

RMH SEQ Business and finance manager Steve Whitehead said this milestone was a reminder of the wonderful support the charity receives.

“As the Points for Hope initiative surpasses the $100,000 milestone, we are reminded of the overwhelming support our organisation has received from Jupiters Hotel & Casino and the Gold Coast Titans,” he said.

“We congratulate the Titans on reaching this figure so early in the 2015 NRL season and would like to thank Jupiters for being such great advocates for our organisation and constantly championing our cause.

“Our organisation provides accommodation and support services to seriously ill children and their families and we rely heavily on our generous partners to assist us in continuing to deliver these services to the community.”
