Coast Titans exciting young centre James Roberts today re-signed with the club for a further two seasons.
The 22-year-old has been in superb form in recent weeks which was recognised with his selection in the City Origin side.
He has scored 27 tries in his 40 NRL appearances including 11 from 12 games this season, putting him equal second with teammate Anthony Don on the NRL try-scoring lists, behind this Sunday’s opponent Curtis Rona from the Bulldogs.
“It’s good to have my future settled, I’ve really enjoyed it on the Gold Coast, the relaxed lifestyle outside of footy as well as at the Titans,” Roberts said.
“It’s been a fresh start for me and I appreciate the faith the club has shown and I want to really prove myself as an NRL player in the next couple of seasons.
“I have learned a lot from Neil Henry and his coaching staff and have a really good bunch of teammates around me. I feel settled here which has helped my footy.
“I’ve matured as a person and a player in my time here but I know I can keep improving and I want to play a big part for the Titans moving forward as a club.”
Head coach Neil Henry is delighted to have Roberts’ future secured for the next two seasons and sees him as player who can develop further.
“We all know how dynamic James can be with the ball but he is also developing other aspects of his game and will continue to improve as he gains experience at the elite level,” Henry says.
“He has shown this season what he is capable of and it is great news for the club that he’ll be with us for another two seasons. We hope to see him in Titans colours for many years to come.”
