Lightning-fast Titans centre James Roberts has been chosen as the Titans’ Members Player of the Year after an outstanding season that saw him score some breathtaking tries.
The 22-year-old played all 24 games for the team and equalled David Mead’s season try-scoring record with 16 tries. He was also selected for City Origin and signed a new two-year deal to remain at the club while establishing himself as one of the NRL’s most exciting players.
The Titans members were invited to vote online for their player of the year and Roberts was a clear winner, ahead of Kane Elgey and Luke Douglas.
It was his full season in the NRL, despite making his debut for South Sydney as an 18-year-old in 2011. Before this season he had played 28 NRL games and was seen as an enigmatic figure but he finished 2015 having played all 24 matches and now has 52 games and 32 tries to his name … and a bright future ahead.
