The Gold Training under-20s are hoping to have experienced players Brian Kelly and Morgan Boyle back from injury to take on the Bulldogs on Saturday at ANZ Stadium (10.40am).

Kelly has been troubled by his ankle injury for several weeks and aggravated it when he returned to take on the Broncos in round six. He will have a fitness test later in the week to see if he can return to the side that has won four games and sits just outside of the top eight.

Boyle has not played since he was outstanding in the round two four victory in Canberra because of rib and back injuries but scans have cleared him of any serious damage and, like Kelly, he will need to pass a fitness test to be cleared to play.

Shane Wright made a successful return from injury against the Dragons on Sunday from the bench and has been named the second row.

If Kelly and Boyle play it will be the first time this season the six players who spent time training with the NRL squad in the pre-season – Boyle, Wright, Kelly, Greg Leleisiuao, Kurt Bernard and skipper Jed Cartwright – have all been available.
