Aquis Gold Coast Titans Chief Operating Officer has today been appointed as NRL Head of Football to fill the role vacated by Todd Greenberg following his recent elevation to NRL Chief Executive Officer.

“We are all extremely sad to be losing Brian, however we are very happy for him personally that his talents and experience have been recognised by the NRL”, Titans Chief Executive Officer, Graham Annesley, said today.

“Although Brian has only been with us for a relatively short period of time his contribution has made an enormous impact with our Board, our administrative staff, and everyone associated with our football department,” Annesley added.

The Titans are greatly appreciative for the depth of planning put in place by Brian in recent months which leaves a great foundation to build on.

Brian leaves the club extremely confident of the Titans future prospects both on and off the field.

“This opportunity to contribute across the broader game arose totally unexpectedly, but I will leave with the Titans a tremendous sense of optimism about the outstanding work that has been done to rebuild the club and position it for continued growth and success in the coming years,” Brian Canavan said.

“I’d like to thank the Board and CEO Graham Annesley for the wonderful opportunity afforded to me during my time on the Gold Coast. I’d also like thank everyone involved with the club for being so welcoming and assisting me in my role.

“I will miss everyone enormously and I look forward to the many successes that lay ahead for the Titans and the development of Rugby League in South East Queensland.”

Brian is expected to take up his new position in July.
