Our Gold Training under-20s have the chance to go into equal eighth place on the ladder if they can beat Parramatta at Ringrose Park in Sydney tomorrow (3pm).

The injury-hit side, without key men Jed Cartwright, Shane Wright, Greg Leleisiuao, Morgan Boyle, Tyronne Roberts-Davis, Brayden McGrady, Josh Fauid and Kurt Bernard, surprised with their effort in heavy conditions against South Sydney last Saturday but would have gained confidence.

AJ Brimson was impressive on debut and combined well with Perth-prospect Josh Rogers and they will be key parts of Ben Woolf’s side today.

“Our halves kicked well and controlled play well last week and their combination with Brian Kelly at fullback will be crucial for us this weekend,” Woolf said.

“The Eels have a big pack and we have to contain their go-forward and offloads.

“To do that we have to be good defensively and control possession well; we can’t afford to give them cheap ball.”

The Eels are fifth on 16 points, having lost just four of 12 games, and are a big side who like to spread the ball and play with second phase.

Kelly plays at fullback for the second time this season and will want to inject himself into the attack as much as he can, as he is without doubt the key strike-weapon in the Titans backline.
