Karl Lawton becomes the Aquis Titans' 113th NRL player today in Auckland, and the first to follow a brother. He spoke to Titans TV.

The 20-year-old local product, who last year played for Queensland under-20s, will join older brother Kane who played seven first garde games for the Titans after debuting in 2009 at the same age as Karl will.

"It was pretty tough missing an NRL pre-season but the boys being such up-beat people and they have been really good.

"It's great to follow Kane and debut, especially at the same age, it's pretty special. The family is stoked, mum is pumped, and dad is over the moon but my brother is the happiest of them all."

He'll also be up against Solomone Kata in the centres which will be a rare duel of two "top-knot' hair styles.
