With nine rounds remaining Chris McQueen knows his team must win five or six to make the finals, but also counting ahead won't help.

With Konrad Hurrell and David Mead returning from injury, he will be able to return to the forwards against the Dragons this Friday night.

"I don't know how many games we will have to win but we need to lift our intensity," he said.

"We have to make sure we don't get ahead of ourselves. If we look at the big picture each week it's easy to get overawed by that so we just have to take it one week at a time and if we win most of our games we'll be sitting pretty when the finals come.

"There is a log jam around the eight and we're one of those teams."
