Aquis Titans forward Ryan James believes the Eels will be motivated to prove they are a finals quality team and knock some candidates out in coming weeks.

The big prop today said even if the Eels' loss against Penrith last week probably leaves them out of touch of the top eight, they wil be motivated to be the spoiler team and will come to Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday keen to repeat their round 14 victory in Darwin.

"Being stripped of the points give them extra motivation to show their fans and they were able to make the top eight and will come up here and throw everything at us and try to get the win," James said today.

"I assume that's what every other other club would do, stop players and teams wanting to make the finals and I'm sure they're going to try to upset us."
