Queensland legend Darren Lockyer was this week crowned the greatest captain of all time as part of Men of League's Heritage Round celebrations.

The honour was this week bestowed on the man who holds the recod for the most NRL appearances (355 - 163 as captain), most Tests for Australia (59) and most as captain (38).

He stood above 12 other finalists for the honour at the Men of League Foundation's gala dinner on Tuesday and seemed quite shocked by his new title.
