Competition - NRL Premiership Round. Round - Round 24. Teams - Newcastle Knights v Gold Coast Titans. Date - 20th of August 2016. Venue - Hunter Stadium, Broadmeadow, NSW. Photographer - Paul Barkley.

The Gold Coast Titans have given their fans plenty to cheer about this season and this afternoon they provided another reason to be there next Saturday as they contest the final home game of the year.

There is no questioning the Aquis Gold Coast Titans are a united, committed and passionate outfit with the clubs underrated forward pack once again proving they have the ability, skill and toughness to adapt quickly and match it with the best in the NRL.

In a danger match, and playing to keep their finals hopes alive against the struggling Knights in Newcastle, it was the forward pack led by Captain Ryan James who paved the way for a convincing 26-6 victory.

With inform half Ash Taylor rested for the clash, the Gold Coasters also lost star recruit Jarryd Hayne who was forced from the field midway through the second period after being concussed attempting to make a tackle.

The absence of key playmakers mattered little with returning five eight Tyron Roberts providing his pack with enough possession to ensure they inflicted constant scoreboard damage.

Captain Ryan James scored twice, while the inform Chris McQueen and tireless Luke Douglas also crossed the stripe to ensure the Titans spend another week lodged in the NRL top eight and setting up a mouth watering showdown with the Penrith Panthers at Cbus Super Stadium next weekend.

James was inspirational for the Titans, shaking off the controversy surrounding last weeks tackle on West Tigers James Tedesco to play a lead role for the Visitors.

Be there to support the Gold Coasters as they take on the seventh placed Panthers this Saturday.
