Second game back at fullback and fourth game back in the NRL, Jarryd Hayne knows he will be tested by Johnathan Thurston's kicking game on Saturday (kick-off 5.30pm).

Hayne was joint Dally M Medal winner with Thurston in 2014 and both multi-medal winners. He spoke about the challenge in Townsville and his respect for Thurston who has been in fine form in recent weeks and whose kicking game is the best in the NRL.

Yet he warns that the Titans have to worry about getting their own game in order rather than focusing too much on the threat of Thurston.

"The guys have shown during the year they can compete with the best it's about [getting our backyard right) against the Cowboys in Townsville where it is going to be a huge ask but as long as we go up there and compete and kind of do what is in the game plan and know what we are capable of doing, we'll go well," he said.

The Titans travel to Townsville today knowing a win at 1300SMILES Stadium secures a top eight spot, without having to wait for the Raiders-Tigers result on Sunday.

Finald ticketing information will be available on Monday morning.
