After having a number of close games throughout 2016, the field goal is an extremely important play in the modern game. The Titans featured in two of the top six, with NRL.com judging the below as key moments in their respective games:
Rnd 13 v Rabbitohs - Ash Taylor field goal
After the match finished at 28-all it came down to a shootout with the halves commanding the ball and it was halfback Ash Taylor who handled the pressure and slotted it over for a 29-28 win.
Round 23 v Tigers - Jarryd Hayne field goal
In just his second game at the club and his first in his home towm Campbelltown, Hayne produced one of the most magical moments of the season when he sent the ball over the black dot with 20 seconds lef ton the clock. The side were able to hold on in the final two minutes for a 19-18 win.
