Aquis Gold Coast Titans Assistant Coach Terry Matterson says the players won't be given any easy roads to 2017, as he keeps a close eye over the players during the pre-season.

Matterson has begun his third pre-season with the Titans coaching staff and said having the Titans administrative and football staff back together under the one roof is already paying dividends.

"The training facility we've got here, the ground is magnificant and the boys can do everything in the one area,"Matterson said.

"The boys are loving it, they've actually got a locker so they don't have to take their gear home, so its all here, they recover here straight away after training in the pools, plunge pools and altitude chamber as well.

"All bases are covered and we've got the gym in there as well."

Matterson says there's a number of positions in the squad still up for grabs over the pre-season and the fringe players are putting in some strong performances ahead of Christmas.

"It's all guns blazing," he said.

"Our offices now overlook the gym so we've got our eyes on them the majority of the time."
