Aquis Gold Coast Titans backrower Chris McQueen says he's already put his hand up to fill the vacant number 13 jersey in 2017.

McQueen has already told coach Neil Henry he'd be willing to make the move, hoping to form a potent backrow combination alongside the incoming Kevin Proctor and the likes of Zeb Taia, Agnatius Passi and others.

"I'd love to give it a go," McQueen said.

"I actually told the coach that if that was needed I'd put my hand up.

"I've played a little bit of 13 in the past at the Rabbitohs so it wouldn't be new to me."

The former Maroons representative admits it'll be up to the coaching staff to decide the best line-up.

"I guess we'll just wait and see how things go throughout the rest of our pre-season and throughout the trials," he said.

"And if the coach asks me to do the job I'll be more than happy to do it."

McQueen will be at the Gold Coast Animal Welfare League Queensland's Shelter tomorrow from 10am as part of his role as an AWLQ Ambassador.
