He sauntered back to the in-goal area after the Eels had got in a second kick on the last tackle and could have let the ball bounce over the ANZAC Oval dead-ball line.

Instead, Tyronne Roberts-Davis grabbed the ball, sized up the situation and exploded on an 85-metre run through the Parramatta defence to set up his side's final try in their 30-18 win over the Eels in Alice Springs. Watch the video above.

With Jarryd Hayne at home nursing a minor knee injury he picked up at the Downer NRL Auckland Nines, Roberts-Davis delivered the type of scything run that made the 'Hayne Plane' the hottest league player on the planet in 2009.

His pure speed enabled him to get on the outside of two Eels chasers before cutting back on the inside and racing over the halfway line with barely a Parramatta defender in sight.

Not due to turn 20 until August 17, Roberts-Davis played 30 minutes in the fullback role against the Eels and continues to generate belief that an NRL debut is well within reach in 2017.

"He's ready," said cousin and Titans half Tyrone Roberts.

"He's only young but he's got some talent. I reckon he'll be there this year."

A Kempsey Dragons junior who represented the Queensland and Australian Schoolboys in 2015, Roberts-Davis has scored 12 tries and kicked 49 goals in the past two Holden Cup seasons and was rewarded with a place in the Titans squad that participated in the Downer NRL Auckland Nines.

After missing the first game against the Sharks Roberts-Davis lined up against the Bulldogs and scored a try and went on to play against the Panthers in the third round and against Parramatta in the quarter-finals.

It was at the Nines that he got to play alongside cousin Tyrone for the first time where the quietly spoken 19-year-old told NRL.com what it meant to play alongside family on such a big stage.

"Yeah it was good, good feeling," he said. "It means a lot actually."

Titans chief operating officer Tony Mestrov and coach Neil Henry have spoken openly about the club's desire to add another outside back to their roster prior to the start of the season but they may already have an NRL-ready option waiting in the wings.
