Departing forward Zeb Taia has today spoken for the final time as a Titan after yesterday confirming that he would take up a three year offer to play with St Helens in the English Super League.

Taia was contracted for season 2017 but after an approach that would give him a further two years guaranteed, the 32-year-old couldn’t refuse the offer.

“It’s a tough one,” Taia said. “I was all ready and prepared for season 2017 but St Helens approached me with an offer that I couldn’t refuse.

“At the end of the day I had to think about what’s best for me and my family. And we’ve decided to make this move.

Whilst disappointed that he wasn’t going to have the opportunity to wear the Titans colours in 2017, the Auburn born prop is appreciative with the honesty put forward from all parties involved.

“It caught me off guard a little. Neil said that if there was an opportunity then it might be in my best interest to take it up. I appreciate him being honest from the start.

“The Titans did give me the opportunity to stay this season but with another two years guaranteed, it was a hard offer to pass up.
