The Aquis Gold Coast Titans have today welcomed new recruit Joe Greenwood at the TFH High Performance Centre, just in time for a potential round one selection.

Greenwood had his visa approved on Saturday morning and was on a flight 12 hours later to Australia, all in the hope of pushing for a selection in the side for the match this Saturday night against the Sydney Roosters at Cbus Super Stadium.

“I’ve basically come straight off the flight to the training ground here,” Greenwood said. “I wanted to come straight in, meet all the boys and check out the facility.”

Asked if he’s ready to go after the long flight, the for St Helens player was keen to put to his case forward.

“I’m ready. There’s no excuses and blaming a long flight. I obviously haven’t trained yet but we’ll see how that goes and I’m hoping to be in contention when Neil chooses his side.”

The 23-year-old had plenty of conversations with the English based Aussies and Kiwis all giving him a few tips.

“I spoke to a number of them that play in the English Super League and they mentioned about how it was a bit different and a big challenge. I’m ready to step up and that’s why I’ve come out here.

Tickets are on-sale now and can be pre-purchased ahead of the game on Saturday night against the Roosters at Cbus Super Stadium. Click here to guarantee your seat.
