The Aquis Gold Coast Titans have today launched voting for the Titans ‘Team of the Decade’ to celebrate the club’s 10th Anniversary (2007-2017). The team will be named in Round 14 against the New Zealand Warriors at Cbus Super Stadium when the current team will wear a commemorative 10 year celebration playing strip.
Over the past 10 seasons, Titans players have given their all for club, members, fans and family, contesting 244 games in the Telstra Premiership.
Now it's your chance to cast a vote in selecting the Gold Coast Titans dream team and this week we open the voting for the position of fullback.
Will current player William Zillman get the nod ahead of former Titans flyer David Mead or are the memories of the amazing Preston Campbell still fresh in the minds and hearts of Gold Coast fans?
Only time will tell and only by casting your vote can you have your say in deciding the Gold Coast Titans team of the decade through titans.com.au. A list of nominees for each position will be released every week in the lead up to the unveiling of the team in Round 14.
To be nominated, players must have played 30 or more games for the club, with the exception of current players who have potential to reach the required number of games.
CEO Graham Annesley is looking forward to the voting process taking place.
“Whilst we are the newest club in the NRL, ten years is a significant milestone and we’ve had some great players over that period,” Annesley said.
“I’m really happy that members, fans, and the wider Gold Coast community will all get the opportunity to help select their all-time favourite line-up.
“No doubt there will be many different opinions about the relative merits of the nominees, but regardless of the final outcome, the team selected will be more than worthy of the great honour bestowed upon them.
“I encourage everyone to get involved and help make this team a true representation of our fantastic club, city and region,” Annesley concluded.
