Aquis Gold Coast Titans Co-Captain Ryan James has today spoken in relation to the on-going commentary around fullback Jarryd Hayne.
There has been news suurrounding the 29-year-old for a number of days around an incident that occurred back in November.
"It's escalated very quickly," James said. "I think the whole situation has been a bit of a mountain out of a mole hill.
"It was four months ago now. We've dealt with it internally and it's in the past now."
James defended the Cabramatta junior and was quick to support his recent efforts in and around the club.
"He's really knuckled down. He's been working really hard and I've been impressed with his efforts."
The Bilambil junior also made a point of the positive influence he has in the community.
"He can do 30 good things and one bad thing gets blown up. We can be out for breakfast and a kid asks him for a photo but that doesn't make the paper.
After suffering an injury in the opening match of the recent Auckland Nines tournament, Hayne is yet to reach full fitness but James thinks his best is not far away.
"He only had that one week of training and he did do a little bit of swaaping during the game last week but the match fitness will come."
