Aquis Gold Coast Titans prop forward Jarrod Wallace was out on the field for close to 70 minutes last Saturday night and the new recruit is happy to do that each week if that is what is required.

Since arriving in November, Wallace had an ‘on and off’ pre-season where he suffered some minor setbacks but when with the main group, used every minute working on his fitness and game management.

The rewards of that hard work came in round one when the Sawtell Panthers junior spent close to 70 minutes out on the field.

“I enjoyed it and I had some nerves being my first game,” Wallace said. “But once I got out there it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed being at Cbus again.

“It wasn’t the start we wanted but we’ve got an opportunity to be better on Saturday. We were in the game with 15 to go but we couldn’t quite do it.”

After being known as a player that came off the interchange bench from his time at Brisbane, Wallace has now shifted into the starting position and is relishing the opportunity.

“I think I played more minutes in the first half than I ever used to at the Broncos, so that was good and it was fun.

“It might not happen every week (the high amount of minutes) but I’m ready if needed.”
