The Titans NYC side have this afternoon been defeated 36-28 by the Parramatta Eels at Cbus Super Stadium.

The match was played from end to end with neither side really being able to gain the upper hand at any stage.

The side was dealt a blow with Max King being ruled out after he was called into the NRL side to make his debut in what was the only change to the side.

It was tit-for-tat throughout the opening 30 minutes with both sides able to cross for two tries a-piece. Winger Kody Parsons opened the account in the SW corner and Ethan Roberts beautifully converted from the sideline after four minutes whilst back rower Apiata Noema grabbed the second in 15th minute which Roberts also converted.

The Eels first came in the 11th minute with five-eighth Dean Matterson scored. Halfback Kamren Cryer converted to level the scores at 6-all. Noel Aukafolau ran a good line to close the gap shortly after but with the conversion missed it was the Titans holding on to a 12-10 lead.

It was a try each to complete the first half and scores were level at 16-all.

The visitors got the jump in the second half through Denzal Tonise and from just to the left of the uprights, Cryer converted to put the Eels in front for the first time in the match, 22-16.

Parsons was able to score his second of the afternoon when he came in field and just showed too much pace to break the line to go over and score. Unfortunately the winger was injured in the process and was taken from the field on a stretcher, playing no further part in the game but with the Roberts conversion, scores were again level at 22-all.

A penalty goal was converted by Roberts from 20m out in the 57th minute to break the deadlock but Gregory Leleisiuao scored two minutes after for the Eels that made the lead short lived, the visitors back in front 26-24.

Centre Daniel Brownbill crossed for the Titans in the 63rd minute but that was the last bit of joy for the home side with two tries to the Eels in the final 10 minutes giving them their first victory for season 2017.
