Aquis Gold Coast Titans Co-Captain Ryan James was last week announced as a Starlight Foundation ambassador.
The 25-year-old has joined on to support the cause, ahead of Starlight Day, next Friday, 5 May. In support of Starlight Day, members and fans will be able to donate to the Starlight Foundation on Saturday, at the match against the Newcastle Knights at Cbus Super Stadium, with representatives roaming the stadium with shaker tins.
Starlight Day raises vital funds for our hospital programs including Captain Starlight who frequently visits the Gold Coast hospitals to help brighten the lives of sick kids being treated there.
“I got involved because I love the work Starlight does with kids and I knew I would enjoy being part of such a great organisation,” James said.
“Starlight helps give people things they wouldn’t necessarily have been able to get themselves. Starlight puts a smile on a child’s face in their most trying times.”
The Starlight Foundation’s mission is “to brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families”. Because sick kids are still kids at heart and when a once-bright life becomes dulled by needles, hospital visits and painful treatments, Starlight helps sick kids forget their illness and rediscover the joy of childhood.
With thanks to Aquis here at the Titans we're able to continue to do amazing work with Schools and community groups every week and provide them with these money can't buy experiences!
