Last week the Aquis Gold Coast Titans hosted members from the Ormeau Shearers Junior Rugby League Club.

In what has been an incredibly difficult time for the club, Leanne Harris, lost her battle with cancer.

Leanne was a lady who gave up so much of her time, assisting with everything that kept the Ormeau Shearers going. Leanne was also the recipient of the Gold Coast Rugby League volunteer of the award at the Titans’ annual Women in League lunch, last year.

The Titans thought it would be good to host the U11 side at training last week, as well as at the recent match against the New Zealand Warriors.

Below is how the Ormeau Shearers remembered Leanne:

It is with great sadness and heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of our beloved Leanne. All who knew and loved Lee will agree that her journey has been one of great inspiration and strength.

We are both proud and privileged to have known Lee, as a fellow Shearer and as a friend. Our thoughts are with her husband Slater and sons Malik and Kaylum, at this time.

Please take a moment of silence in honour of this amazingly strong and inspirational Shearer, friend to many.

Rest in Peace Lee, remembered with love & pride
